Peter Schramm was born American, but in the wrong place. His weekly conversations are meant to enlighten, edify and even amuse you Americans! He talks with interesting and thoughtful (and sometimes well-known) people about American politics and what Mark Twain called the nation's temperament. Schramm is executive director of the John M. Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs at Ashland University.
The Ashbrook Events Podcast provides audio from recent events held at the Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs as well as events from our extensive library of archived speeches. Each week, this podcast will bring you a speech from a leading figure in American or international politics.
The Teaching American History Podcast is based on programs for teachers sponsored by the Ashbrook Center. These seminars are designed to encourage teachers to seriously examine significant events in American history in light of the principles of the American founding, and also to encourage the use of primary source materials in the classroom. The seminars, which include both lecture and discussion, are taught by leading scholars in their field from throughout the nation.
