Lee Edwards is senior editor of The World & I magazine, adjunct associate professor of politics at The Catholic University of America and a senior fellow at The Heritage Foundation.
His books include: The Conservative Revolution: The Movement That Remade America released in April by Free Press; The Power of Ideas: The Heritage Foundation at 25 Years (1997); Goldwater: The Man Who Made A Revolution (1995); Missionary for Freedom: The Life and Times of Walter Judd (1990); Ronald Reagan: A Political Biography (1981); and You Can Make A Difference (1980).
Edwards has been published in Reader’s Digest, National Review, Policy Review, Crisis, World Affairs, Insight and such leading newspapers as the Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Detroit News and the Washington Times.
Edwards received his Ph.D. in world politics from the Catholic University of America. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from Duke University and did graduate work at the Sorbonne in Paris.
He was founding director of the Institute on Political Journalism at Georgetown University from 1985 to 1987 and was a fellow at the Institute of Politics at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 1985.
He is president of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, which is authorized to design, construct and operate an international memorial and museum in Washington, D.C., to the more than 100 million victims of communism.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Edwards resides in Alexandria, Virginia, with his wife, Anne, who assists him in his research and writing. They have two daughters, Dr. Elizabeth Spalding and Catherine O’Connor, and two grandsons.
