Martin Anderson, an insider with the Nixon and Reagan Administrations, is a Senior Fellow of the Hoover Institution on War, Revolution and Peace at Stanford University.
A Senior Policy Advisor for Ronald Reagan’s presidential campaigns in 1976 and 1980, he served the Reagan White House as Assistant for Policy Development and as a member of both the President’s Economic Advisory Board and President’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board. He was also a member of the President’s General Advisory Committee on Arms Control and Disarmament during the Reagan and Bush Administrations.
Dr. Anderson served as a Special Assistant to Richard Nixon during his first administration, followed by two years as President Nixon’s Special Consultant for Systems Analysis. He was the Director of Research for the Nixon presidential campaign in 1968.
Complementing his experience in domestic affairs, Dr. Anderson was a member of the Commission on Critical Choices for Americans and Defense Manpower Commission, in addition to serving as California Governor Pete Wilson’s Council of Economic Advisors since 1992.
Dr. Anderson who earned his Ph.D. in industrial management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is the author of The Federalist Bulldozer: A Critical Analysis of Urban Renewal, Welfare: The Political Economy of Welfare Reform in the United States, Registration and the Draft, Revolution and Imposters in the Temple.
Prior to getting into politics, Dr. Anderson was a finance professor with the Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a Research Fellow with MIT and Harvard University’s Joint Center for Urban Studies.
