Dinesh D’Souza, a native of Bombay, India, and now a permanent United States resident, is the managing editor of Policy Review, the flagship journal of The Heritage Foundation.
After attending a private Jesuit school, D’Souza came to America in 1977 and attended high school in Arizona for a year as a Rotary exchange student. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Dartmouth College in 1983 with a master’s degree in English.
While in school, he served as editor of "The Dartmouth Review." From 1983-85, D’Souza was editor of Prospect magazine at Princeton University, an independent magazine on academic issues published by the Princeton Alumni Association. He won the first place award for in-depth reporting from the Society of Professional Journalists in 1982.
He was named editor of Policy Review in 1985.
D’Souza has lectured and debated at Harvard, Swathmore, Hollins and St. John’s, and has been a frequent contributor on the subjects of politics and culture for the New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times, Harpers, Vanity Fair, National Review, The American Spectator, and other publications.
He is the author of Falwell: Before the Millennium and The Catholic Classics. Also, D’Souza will represent the U.S. media at a university conference in Spain this fall.
D’Souza, a bachelor residing in Alexandria, Va., has a brother and sister, as well as his parents, living in India.
