Dr. Abraham is a well-known expert and lecturer on the topic of terrorism and hostage negotiations. A political science professor at the University of Cincinnati, Miller is the author of the book, Terrorism and Hostage Negotiations, which was published in 1980. He also has edited several books, including Terrorism, the Media and the Law and Black Power and Student Rebellion. This year he was named as a distinguished visiting scholar for 1986-87 by the North Carolina Center for Independent Higher Education.
Miller has spoken at numerous lectures and conferences and has made several radio and television appearances, including spots on Cincinnati’s ABC, NBC and CBS affiliates during the hijacking of TWA #847 in June 1985 and several spots on Cincinnati’s NBC affiliate from December 1980 to January 1981 during the American hostage situation in Iran.
Miller has been in the political science department at the University of Cincinnati since 1971, serving as director of graduate sutdies, associate professor, acting head of the department and professor. During 1976-77, he served as a visiting fellow for the National Institute of Justice in Washington, D.C.
Miller graduated from the University of Illinois in 1962 with a bachelor of arts degree and received a master of arts degree and a doctorate degree from the University of Michigan.
