Patrick J. Garrity
Adjunct Fellow
Patrick J. Garrity is a Research Associate with the Miller Center of Public Affairs, University of Virginia, and Senior Policy Analyst with the Los Alamos National Laboratory. He received his Ph.D. in Government from the Claremont Graduate School in 1982. He has previously been a Fellow and Professorial Lecturer with the Foreign Policy Institute of the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies; a Research Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies; and has taught at the Catholic University of America and the Naval Postgraduate School. He has published on American foreign and defense policy topics in such journals as Survival, Washington Quarterly, The National Interest, Parameters, and Journal of Strategic Studies. He is co-author of A Sacred Union of Citizens: George Washington’s Farewell Address and the American Character (Rowman and Littlefield, 1996); and co-editor of Nuclear Weapons in the Changing World: Perspectives from Europe, Asia, and North America (Plenum, 1992).
